Thank you for your comments and sorry you had to wait. Doctors do run late alot of the times as some patients come with more then one problem even though we do say 1 problem per consultation but this is always not the case and the Doctor has to take the time to deal with this which means there is a knock on effect when seeing the next patient. Doctors who are on call may have to deal with an emergency during their surgery too, which does happened but not very often and this can also lead to patients waiting. We have now added catch up slots for doctors inbetween seeing patients so that Doctors can try to catch up. BMA are considering changing routine patient consultation time from 10 to 15 minutes but accroding to NHS England guidelines , routine appointments are still 10 minutes until we are advised in the future.
